It came as a helluva shock to me when people like Betrayed Indian (I’m still trying to figure out why he considers himself betrayed? If anyone has figured out then do let me know) brands North Eastern States like Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Nagaland as ‘Parasitic States of India’ who deprives them of their hard earned money.
I fail to rationalize his reasoning that the money churned out by IT Hubs like Bangalore and Pune are going into the coffers of these states. I wonder, had this been the case, these states would have been the most developed states in the country and then these states wouldn’t had complained of Step-motherly attitude of the Union Government. Would they? The fact is that these states has very poor infrastructure, poor communication network and few or no industries, thanks to the Union Government and their step-motherly attitude. The Union Government has never shown its interest to develop this part of the country. Then the question comes, where does the money churned out by these IT Hubs are going? Isn't it going into the coffers of some corrupt politicians and bureaucrats? Does it really goes to the North-Eastern States like Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram or Nagaland? I guess not. Then, should Arunachal Pradesh be branded as Parasitic State of the Country?
Or does the reason for branding these states a parasitic states of the country by people like Betrayed Indian is the fact that they are not allowed free entry into these states without an Inner Line Permit (ILP)? But then, isn't the ILP issued under the archaic Eastern Bengal Frontier Regulation Act, 1873 formulated by the Britishers' and later adopted by the Union Government after Independence? Whose legacy is it anyways? Sometimes, even I feel that it is funny and absurd that people has to obtain Visa (read ILP) to enter its own country? Or is it that the Union Government has yet to come to terms that Arunachal Pradesh earlier North Eastern Frontier Agency (NEFA) administered under Minitry of External Affairs as part of India?
And I would say the people of North-Eastern States are not at all xenophobic as are made out to be. If at all, it's due to highly xenophobic people like Betrayed Indian (who doesn't seem to digest the fact that North Eastern States are also part of the Country and considers the people of these states as foriegner) which has led the people of this part of country to think that they are not the part of this country.

it is no surprise that we are branded this way,.. but it hurts alot..it is true dat we don't have industries n very good infrastructure, n so unable to contribute much to the main economic mainstream,.. but this branding s totally unjustified,
if at all they want us 2 be part of da country, they must stop bullying, they must be genuine in investing some amt, after all we have huge potential in terms of hydropower, forest resources,
n we arunchalis must realise dat we have to work hard now to silence this boasters, we must develop our economy.
